Due to expansion an ACCA certified accountancy practice in Stoke on Trent is seeking a part or fully or qualified Accountant to join its team to help manage an existing client portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of a forward thinking accountancy firm regardless of your level of qualification.  The company will consider applications from semi seniors, time-served bookkeepers, recent AAT level graduates or individuals qualified by experience who wish to progress in their exams whilst contributing to a thriving accountancy practice.

As the Practice Accountant you will be responsible for:

• First point of contact for new and existing customers.
• Preparing accounts for Sole Trader, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
• Preparing Self Assessment tax returns.
• Bookkeeping and Management Accounts.

The Practice Accountant will have the following skills and experience:

• Good communicator with excellent problem solving skills and a good attention to detail.
• Positive ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero, Sage or others is essential.
• Experience of payroll processing would be desirable but not essential.
• Part or fully qualified ACCA or ACA, or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential, as fully funded training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Previous experience of working in an accountancy practice would be a distinct advantage.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £40,000 per year, flexible working options (hybrid), and whilst this is a full-time position, part-time applicants will also be considered.  Along with 20 days plus bank holidays, you will also receive a workplace pension, ongoing training and career progression opportunities for the right candidate.

You will be working up to 37.5 hours per week between 9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch.
