A rapidly expanding specialist heating maintenance company based in Stoke on Trent is seeking a fully qualified Commercial Gas Service Engineer to join its maintenance team on a full-time basis, to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of heating/gas plant and equipment in the Midlands and surrounding areas.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £43,000 per year, a company van and travel allowance.  Along with 33 day’s holiday including bank holidays, you will also receive a mobile phone, company credit card, specialist tools including gas analyser, full uniform and PPE, a workplace pension, fully funded qualification renewals, ongoing training and career progression opportunities.

As the Commercial Gas Service Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Servicing and maintaining commercial installations including boilers, pumps, pressurization units, warm air heaters, as well as small plumbing works.
  • Safety testing and inspection of complete installations, reporting any faults or remedial works that need addressing.
  • Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works before passing it to the contract administrator.
  • Providing engineering support in emergency situations in accordance with gas safe requirements, ensuring business and operational safety.

The Commercial Gas Service Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

  • Confident decision maker, able to work alone and unsupervised with excellent problem-solving skills and a good attention to details.
  • Holder of Gas Safe recognized Commercial qualifications (COCN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1 (IGE/UP/1) is essential.
  • Domestic Gas, LPG and Oil qualifications would be advantage but not essential.
  • Previous experience servicing and maintaining commercial heating/ventilation equipment (AHUs, FCYs, Warm Air Heating, Radiant Tube Heaters and other general HVAC equipment) is essential.
  • Full UK driving licence is required.

You will be working 40 hours per week between 8.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, at various locations, with half an hour for lunch.  Regular overtime may be required.
