A rapidly expanding occupational hygiene, legionella control and health & safety consultancy in Newcastle under Lyme is seeking a fully qualified Senior Occupational Hygienist to join its compliance solutions team on a full-time basis, to provide occupational hygiene services to a variety of industries across the UK and Internationally.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £35,000 per annum based on experience. As the Senior Occupational Hygienist you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out inspections, testing, sampling, risk assessments, environmental audits and other activities on customer’s sites whilst recommending cost effective solutions to help minimize risk factors relating to vapors/fumes/dusts, noise, vibration, light and local exhaust ventilation systems.
  • Accurately recording test results, technical documents, specifications, risk assessments and method statements, reviewing reports to ensure quality and accuracy is maintained.
  • Presenting findings to the customer in a report and providing factual and impartial advice where required.
  • Representing the company at meetings, seminars and training events, prospecting for new customers whilst maintaining good working relationships with existing customers.
  • Ensuring customers receive the required levels of service in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and within agreed timescales.
  • Undertaking training where possible to continuously develop and maintain industry knowledge and experience.
  • Overseeing the trainees and consultants in the occupational hygiene department and the equipment maintenance schedule, providing in-house training where required.

The Senior Occupational Hygienist will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong communication and report writing skills, well organised and able to prioritise work.
  • Able to work in a team as well as alone and unsupervised and to tight deadlines.
  • Holder of the Certificate of Operational Competence (CoC) in Occupational Hygiene and be a Licentiate of the Faculty Occupational Hygiene (LFOH) with the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).
  • Familiarity with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures to ensure safety at work.
  • Full UK driving license is essential as well as a willingness to travel to client sites across the UK and Ireland as per required.

You will be working 40 hours per week between 8:30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with half an hour for lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Hours may differ when travelling and attending client sites.
