A fast growing managed IT service provider in Stoke on Trent is seeking a full-time Trainee Data Cabling Engineer to shadow the Senior Engineers and assist with the installation, repair and maintenance of commercial cable equipment, internet networks and infrastructure.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and self-motivated individual to be trained from the ground up and gain the knowledge and skills to confidently install, test and certify copper and fibre cable installations whilst working to the correct standards and best practices.

 

The role offers excellent training and career progression opportunities, as well as a competitive salary up to £22,000 per year, on-site parking and gym membership.

 

As the Trainee Data Cabling Engineer, you will have the following skills and attributes:

 

  • Supply, installation and testing of structured cabling, fibre optic cabling (overhead and underground).
  • Installation of Wifi networks.
  • Reading and understanding technical drawings and specification sheets.
  • Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • You will be a quick learner with a practical approach and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willing to work from heights (this work will range from step ladders, extension ladders, and mobile elevated platforms). Full training and IPAF will be provided.
  • CSCS or ECS card would be a distinct advantage, as would previous electrical or network cabling experience.

 

You will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from the Stoke office.
