Due to continued growth, a family-owned mechanical engineering and boiler hire company in Stoke on Trent is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join its’ maintenance team on a full-time basis, to refurbish and maintain boiler hire equipment.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £25,000 per year based on experience. Along with 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing 1 day per year after 3 year’s service, you will receive a workplace pension, and training and career progression opportunities for the right candidate.

As the Maintenance Operative your tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the installation and deinstallation of hire equipment at customer sites.
• Picking component parts required for installation.
• Loading and unloading equipment onto vehicles.
• Maintaining good working condition of hire equipment and reporting any defects.
• Stock management and replenishment.
• Accurately recording working time to be billed to customers and ensuring all compliance paperwork is completed as per required.

The Maintenance Operative will have the following skills and experience:

• Good communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships within a team environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail, able to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
• Familiarity with H&S policies and procedures, and manual handling is essential.
• Previous experience working on the trade counter or hire desk of a busy warehouse would be a distinct advantage.

You will be working 40 hours per week between 8.00am – 4.30pm on Monday, and 8.00am – 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday.
