An engineering company in Stoke on Trent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its R&D team on a full-time basis, to help develop innovative solutions to meet market needs.

The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package up to £35,000 per year, as well as the chance to work in an innovative and collaborative environment.  Along with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, you will receive a workplace pension, ongoing training and career progression opportunities for the right candidate.

As the Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the design and development of innovative testing solutions for the automotive industry.
  • Supporting the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with other department to align the R&D objectives with the company’s overall strategic goals.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationship with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Ensuring the R&D budget and resources are managed efficiently.
  • Tracking and measuring the success of R&D initiatives, making necessary adjustments to ensure goals are met.
  • Producing documentation outlining the works undertaken and solutions found to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and technological advancements, ensuring the company’s product portfolio remains competitive.

 

The Mechanical Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong communicational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in the automotive industry.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience in the automotive industry would be a distinct advantage, specifically in the design and development of testing equipment.

 

You will be working 39 hours per week form the office in Stoke.

Appointment will be subject to UK Right To Work checks and satisfactory references.
