Due to recent regional expansion, an accountancy practice in Stoke on Trent is seeking a part or fully qualified ACCA or ACA Accountant to join its team on a full-time basis, to manage an existing client portfolio.

The role offers an attractive salary up to £40,000 per year based on experience. Along with 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, you will receive training and career progression opportunities.  The company would consider providing support towards completing an accountancy qualification for the right candidate.

As the Practice Accountant you will be responsible for:

• Preparing accounts for Sole Trader, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
• Preparing Self Assessment tax returns.
• Bookkeeping and preparing Management Accounts.
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC and other financial regulations.
• First point of contact for new and existing customers.

The Practice Accountant will have the following skills and attributes:

• Part or fully qualified ACCA or ACA, or equivalent qualification is desirable, or qualified by experience.
• Knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, Quickbooks or others is essential.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines, individually or within a team environment.
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice would be a distinct advantage.

You will be working on-site 37.5 hours per week between 9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch.
