A Stoke on Trent based registered charity, supporting people to work their way out of homelessness, is seeking a full-time Retail Manager to support the retail staff and volunteers, as well as oversee other aspects of the sales and marketing functions.

 

The role offers a competitive salary of £24,000 per year and excellent training opportunities. Along with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, you will receive a workplace pension and phone.

As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting customers through the purchase processes, taking payments, and arranging deliveries as well as providing after-sales support and complaint management when required.
  • Taking orders from customers over the phone, by email, social media and in person.
  • Liaising and building relationships with potential customers and purchasers.
  • Taking the lead on store presentation, appearance and its promotion, coordinating promotional events and sales where possible.
  • Promoting the Charity and the work that they do to the general public.
  • Managing store cover with colleagues and volunteers.
  • Key holder and taking responsibility for the opening and closing of the shop.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with all of the charity’s policies, procedures, codes of practice and initiatives.

 

The Retail Manager will have the following skills and attributes:

 

  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build rapport with others.
  • Well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise work.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with eBay selling is desirable.
  • Previous experience working as a manager in a retail or charity environment would be a distinct advantage.

 

You will be working 40 hours per week on-site, 9.00am – 5.00pm, between Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week.

 

Appointment will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
